"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39

Being a Christian is going again the grain... against the nature and the status quo.  If one chooses faith in Christ, he or she is not choosing a life of ease but instead is taking the opposing side.  Being a Christian is difficult.  So often, it seems that living in this fallen world is more than one can bear.  One daily seeks to glorify the Lord but must battle against a fallen nature and the fallen enemy to do so.  At times, this battle seems effortless while at others times it gruesome and one walks away beaten and battered.  Sometimes these are produced by intense battle with the fallen enemy while at others they are self inflicted by our fallen nature.
The question many would have is... why do it?  Why not give into your nature and stop the battle?  The simple answer is the love of Christ.  The love of Christ brought me salvation.  The love of Christ reached into the raging water that was my fallen life and brought to the safe shores.  This love changed me inside and out.  The love of Christ alter everything and became everything for me.  So, it is because of the love of Christ  I do battle.
I will not say that life will be easy for a creature alive in Christ living in a dead world, for the Scriptures are clear that this is not the case.  We will do battle.  We will hurt.  We will be wounded.  We will have horrible scars.  What will not happen... what can never happen for those who live in Christ is that nothing, absolutlely nothing can superate us from the love a Christ.
So, each Christian must battle on but as we do each one of us can be thankful that the love a Christ can withstand all.
